EDP Sciences and Astronomy & Astrophysics sponsor the 5th Scientific Writing for Young Astronomers
- Détails
EDP Sciences are proud to partner with Astronomy & Astrophysics since the first ‘Scientific Writing for Young Astronomers’ (SWYA) workshop which took place in Belgium in 2008. The 5th SWYA takes place at the Yunnan Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences on 6-10 January 2020 for which they are again sponsoring partners.
SWYA 2020 is a 4-day seminar addressing major aspects of scientific writing and publishing. All lecturers have extensive professional experience in publishing, editorial matters, scientific writing, and library and database management.
The purpose of the "Astronomy and Astrophysics School" is to teach students how to express their scientific results through correct and efficient science writing. Students can bring manuscripts and drafts of papers and seek advice, making it an interactive and invaluable learning experience.
Yunnan Observatories is the most prominent centre of research in the field of Astronomy in southwest China, encompassing all facilities on Phoenix Mountain, as well as the Lijiang Observatory and the Fuxian Solar Observatory. It is nationally renowned for its graduate and internship programmes, and foreign applicants are welcome to apply.
