4open announces a new special issue published in Life Sciences (Medicine), “Parasitology and Carcinogenesis”, guest edited by Ijaz S. Jamall and Björn L.D.M. Brücher.

“The liver fluke Opisthorchis felineus as a group III or group I carcinogen” by Mariya Yurievna Pakharukova, José Manuel Correia da Costa, and Viatcheslav Alekseevitch Mordvinov is the first article featured in the new special issue. This article discusses a need for the revision of the carcinogenic potential of Opisthorchis felineus (liver fluke) due to evidence that this liver fluke leads to a precancerous state of the bile duct epithelium.
