SMAI celebrates its 30th anniversary (2013-05-28)
The Society of Applied and Industrial Mathematics (SMAI) was founded in 1983 on the initiative of French applied mathematicians realizing the specific nature of their discipline and keen to ensure its spreading and development.
The aim of the non-profit Society SMAI is to contribute to the development of applied mathematics through research, business applications, publications, education, as well as research and engineering training.
This year, the SMAI congress (27-30 may 2013, Seignosse, France) will be an opportunity to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the association.
The following journals are published by EDP Sciences under the scientific leadership of SMAI:

- ESAIM: COCV (Control Optimisation and Calculus of Variations)
- ESAIM: P&S (Probability and Statistics)
