It is with great sadness that we announce that Jacky Ganry passed away unexpectedly on Monday, 4 February 2013.

Jacky Ganry was the Scientific Director of Fruits for many years and was known for his unconditional commitment to research in horticulture and the importance and value of fruits and vegetables for health. He was a great advocate and dedicated supporter of Fruits around the world, and expressed specific interest in the promotion of horticulture in tropical and subtropical countries.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences and sympathy to his family, his partner, and to the many friends and colleagues close to him.
