We are pleased to announce that Emergent Scientist has been accepted into the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), its first indexation, where it joins over 13,500 other high quality, open access, peer-reviewed journals. Indexation in the DOAJ means Emergent Scientist is in compliance with the open access policy of the DOAJ and meets all the strict criteria required for inclusion.

“The Directory of Open Access Journals is a service that indexes high quality, peer-reviewed Open Access research journals, periodicals and their articles’ metadata.” (DOAJ). The aim of the DOAJ is to increase the visibility and ease of use of open access scientific and scholarly journals, thereby promoting their increased usage and impact. The DOAJ aims to be comprehensive and cover all open access scientific and scholarly journals that use a quality control system to guarantee the content.

Emergent Scientist is the first open access student-oriented scientific journal, offering a unique opportunity for students to get acquainted with scientific publication. Students are encouraged to not only read its articles, but also submit and review papers. Emergent Scientist is currently accepting submissions from two scientific fields: mathematics and physics.
