We are pleased to announce an agreement with ResearchGate for the hosting (“Version of Record Hosting”) of content from the majority of our open access journals. The agreement consists of a pilot program until the end of 2023 and initially, only includes open access journals. The titles are all peer-reviewed and cover a range of disciplines; they include the Journal of Space Weather and Space Climate, Acta Acustica and all six Web of Conferences proceedings journals – see the full list below.

With over 22 million registered users accessing more than 135 million publication pages, ResearchGate is undoubtedly a significant platform for today’s researchers. Many open access articles published by EDP Sciences are already available on ResearchGate thanks to authors uploading their work. It therefore makes sense to formalise the relationship between the platform and publisher, to simplify the process for authors and ensure the Version of Record is always available. In so doing, EDP Sciences recognises changing research habits and shows it is prepared to support researchers wherever they choose to spend their time and conduct their research.

In time, the overall aim of EDP Sciences is to become a full open access publisher and to transition its entire portfolio of peer-reviewed journals into full open access. Therefore, any initiatives which facilitate the discovery of new research and make science more open and more accessible are well worth pursuing.
